On a recent visit to the Philippines I became aware of a interesting looking wall clock. It is called a "Fortune wheel clock" and had been placed by an Feng Shui consultant in the managers office. Somehow this name reminds me of a popular American TV game show. The clock had to face an exact direction to bring good luck. By coincidence this direction has been the same as the visiting annual 5. A second clock had been put up in an other office next to a protruding pillar to weaken this negative effect. The direction was 180° opposite of the first one. A third clock had been installed in the canteen. Here the direction was 90° changed to the first one. Further more some secret amulets have been buried in the line of sight to a chimney in the far distant. A shelf in the owners office had been closed to remedy the cutting sha Qi.
Studying Feng Shui and other related topics for a few years now, it becomes more and more apparent to me that some when in the future I would like to use my knowledge on a professional level and maybe earn a living with Feng Shui consultations. With this in view I try to keep my eyes open to learn and understand as much as possible. Not only about Feng Shui itself but also about its work ethics. What makes a good practitioner and how to reach a good relationship with the clients.
The manager of the company where the above mentioned clock hangs, told me that this Feng Shui Master is not charging for his consultations directly but requires you to buy any cures that are necessary, from him. He has come to the point where he believes that at least the clock in the canteen has been put up there because the Feng Shui Master wanted to sell one more clock to earn some extra money. Overall he had not an good impression of this consultation.
This and a similar case I encountered before in Germany gave me food for thought on how I should present myself towards my clients. My family even asks (pushes) why I am not also selling Feng Shui accessories? Just tell a few stories and then sell sticker for mirrors and Bathroom doors or coins, Ba Gua mirrors, toads, DNA coils etc. and charge a premium for it. Being able to give our clients some special accessory that is not available somewhere else is for sure a good marketing tool and gives our work a special touch. Some clients even will take us only serious if we give them something "special". The Feng Shui analysis however, I believe, should be worked at without any thought on cures we might have in our stock. Only with a clear and concentrated mind it is possible to get to the right conclusions of an Feng Shui Audit. After that we might be able to offer our clients some special accessories and we might be able to earn some extra money with it. But be careful, not that the client feels Later he has been cheated out of his money like the manager in Philippines thinks.
Just some thoughts.
Best wishes
